The academic portion of the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox course provides the foundational knowledge needed to safely use nitrox blends. Through SSI’s e-learning platform, you’ll study topics such as:
While the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox course does not require a formal confined water session, we offer optional practical workshops in a controlled environment. These sessions provide an opportunity to familiarize yourself with gas analysis equipment, learn how to properly label tanks, and simulate pre-dive planning using enriched air. These practical exercises will give you additional confidence before heading out to open water.
Open Water Sessions
The open water portion allows you to apply everything you’ve learned in real-world diving conditions. You’ll plan and conduct dives using nitrox, analyzing your gas mixture before each dive and calculating maximum operating depths.
